“Love, Death and Oscar Wilde”
Be Home with B8 Theatre Company and Oscar Wilde
“Americans are certainly great hero-worshippers, and they always take their heroes from the criminal classes.” – Oscar Wilde
B8 Theatre Company invites you to a celebration of the life and art of Oscar Wilde on his birthday, October 16. Through his writing, both public and private, actors give voice to his thoughts on literary censorship, the beauty of nature, the pain of isolation, and the capacity for love to conquer suffering. He also offers some poignant observations on this country circa 1882.
In this multi-media tribute, spoken excerpts from such works as “The Happy Prince” and “The Ballad of Reading Gaol,” along with private and public correspondence are illuminated with visual imagery and music evocative of Wilde’s era, all through the magic of Zoom.
When you "arrive" to the meeting you will be in a waiting room until just before 7:00 pm.
Please begin joining us at 6:45 pm.
Guests will be asked to mute themselves and turn off your video during the performance. However, "post show" all are welcome to turn on video and unmute to share your thoughts of the evening.
