As you may know, we have been performing in our Downtown space at 2292 Concord Boulevard through the generosity of Browman Development Company, who have rented the building to us at an EXTREMELY reduced rate while the building is awaiting demolition. The Concord City Council has now approved plans for “The Grant” apartments, a six-story, 140-unit mixed-use project planned for the parcel of land that includes our theater. Construction could begin as early as next Summer, which means B8 Theatre Company needs a new home (possibly before our season is complete!).
Our Building Committee is exploring possible locations in the Downtown area, but one thing we know for sure, our rent will increase SIGNIFICANTLY when we are forced to move.
We’re asking for your help to keep our unique brand of theatre in the community. We need to raise the funds to allow us to not only secure a new location (once it has be identified), but to accomplish the construction and conversions needed to turn it into an operational “black box” theater.
If each of our dedicated patrons donated $88 for B8, we would be well on our way to funding a space that will allow us to remain in business in the Downtown area.
